Liberal Democrats, including Parliamentary candidate Stephen Gilbert, were outside Somerfield in St Blazey today (Saturday 25th) as the party's "Street Surgery" visited the town for the first time.

Boundary changes mean that St Blazey, Par, Tywardreath and Fowey, currently represented by South East Cornwall MP Colin Breed MP, will in the the new St Austell & Newquay constituency at the next general election.

Stephen Gilbert, who has been selected by local Liberal Democrats to be the parliamentary candidate for the new seat said:

"It was great to be back in St Blazey. I know the town really well - it's where I first cut my political teeth standing for election as a Councillor to Restormel back in 1998. I met many familiar faces and heard how things had changed over the last 10 years."
