Stephen Gilbert, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for the new seat of St Austell & Newquay (which includes St Blazey, Tywardreath, Fowey and Par) has called on Restormel Borough Council to make public its plans for Par beach so that the community can have an open debate.

Stephen said: "Over the last couple of weeks I have been contacted by many people asking what the Council plans for Par beach. With different rumours circulating in the community, I think it is vital that the Council lets people know what is being considered. For me the bottom line is that the beach must remain open and accessible to the public all year."
