WEEKLY RECYCLING: "RESTORMEL SHOWS WAY FOR CORNWALL"3.03.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 16th May 2008
Commenting on the news that Lib Dem led Restormel Borough Council is to introduce weekly collections for recycling, Stephen Gilbert, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for St Austell & Newquay, said: "Restormel is leading the way on recycling, and I hope that in time the rest of Cornwall will follow." Stephen Gilbert added: "During last year's local elections the Liberal Democrats promised to put getting more jobs, affordable homes and helping the environment at the front of the Council's plans. Moving to a weekly recycling collection is great news for both residents and the environment and will, hopefully, lead to an increase in the amount of recycling in the area."
