Commenting on the news that Lib Dem led Restormel Borough Council is to introduce weekly collections for recycling, Stephen Gilbert, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for St Austell & Newquay, said: "Restormel is leading the way on recycling, and I hope that in time the rest of Cornwall will follow."

Stephen Gilbert added: "During last year's local elections the Liberal Democrats promised to put getting more jobs, affordable homes and helping the environment at the front of the Council's plans. Moving to a weekly recycling collection is great news for both residents and the environment and will, hopefully, lead to an increase in the amount of recycling in the area."
